Ranger Derby:
This is a communitywide pinewood and LEGO derby. A pinewood derby is a wood car racing event where kids build model cars from specified wooden car kits and race against each other on a multilane track. Children choose if they want to build a pinewood or LEGO derby car. (Only pick one.) For boys and girls ages 3-18. Power of Heels Women’s Day Luncheon:
Guest speaker will be Karen KJ Johnson, executive director of Dress for Success Dallas. Since 2006, Dress for Success Dallas has been leading the charge of empowering women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and in life. The ATHENA Society of Burleson 18th Annual Mardi Gras Gala:
We are back with some exciting new additions to the gala. You won’t want to miss the evening! Vietnam Veterans Celebration:
Join the city of Burleson in proudly celebrating Vietnam veterans. Burleson Fire Department Honor Guard will present the nation’s colors. The POW/MIA flag will be raised. A wreath will be laid, and “Taps” will be played in tribute. Free. 2:00 p.m., Veterans Memorial Plaza, 298 E. Renfro St.
