Bahama Plumbing

Bahama Plumbing knows that people calling plumbers are not often having their best day. “When you think of the Bahamas, you think of nice, relaxing breezes,” Co-owner Bobby Mathis explained. “You don’t usually think of that with plumbing, but we want to change that. When you have a problem, we send a technician out to do a thorough investigation. We explain all the options before we do any work. We make recommendations, but we go with what the customer wants. It’s never a take-it-or-leave-it option with us.”

Bahama Plumbing offers a wide range of plumbing services. “We install and repair water heaters — tank and tankless. We install fixtures, unclog drains, repair burst pipes and deal with slab leaks with reroutes and repipes,” Co-owner Aaron Silvia reported. “We try to find the most cost effective and efficient solution possible.” That’s good news for homeowners with plumbing embedded in their slab foundation. A reroute avoids breaking up the foundation by running new pipes overhead.

“We wear shoe covers and use drop cloths in your home,” Aaron continued. “We clean up our mess when we leave and attempt to leave the area cleaner than when we came in. We also do camera inspections for free with all of our drain cleaning services. Many companies charge extra for that.” Bahama Plumbing also guarantees their work. “Our 2-5-10 policy covers our work.” The services and repairs they perform are warrantied for two, five or ten years, depending on the service.

After the big winter storm a few years ago, most local plumbers had waiting lists. “I walked a lot of people through how to safely thaw their pipes, over the phone, for no charge,” Co-owner April Mathis remembered. “There were a lot of appreciative homeowners, and many of them have called us, in the time since, when they needed a plumber.”

“We try to find the most cost effective and efficient solution possible.”

Bahama Plumbing is right here in Waxahachie, but their service area extends well beyond. “Ellis County is our primary service area,” April explained. “But we serve the entire DFW area. We are family-owned and -operated, and Bobby is an Army veteran, so we’re also veteran-owned. We opened in October of 2019, right before the pandemic hit, which made it difficult, but we endured, because people like our service, our team and our integrity. We only do service work. We refer all new construction to Lucky’s, and Lucky’s usually refers service work to us. Additionally, due to liabilities, we must speak with the property owner. So, if you rent, have your landlord call us.”

As business owners and local residents, they prioritize community involvement. “We participate in or support the Waxahachie Junior League’s Christmas Market, the Chamber of Commerce, WISD’s DEAR Day and South Metro Weather. I also volunteered this year for various events at Turner Pre-K Academy,” April informed. “Our float in the Waxahachie Fourth of July Parade last year won Grand Champion.”

Whether taking care of the community or a homeowner’s plumbing, Bobby, April, Aaron and the whole team at Bahama Plumbing hope you’ll give them a call. Their daughter, Caitlin, is waiting by the phone.
