The Longhorn Film Festival:
This event brings unique, diverse movie filmmakers and their films to North Texas as a celebration of artistic spirit. They welcome both feature-length and short films in their recommended forms. The festival remains devoted to the advancement of filmmakers sharing amazing stories with limited budgets. Cost: $12-$20. Saturday: 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m.; Sunday: 12:15-7:00 p.m., Farr Best Theater, 109 North Main Street.

Mansfield READS! 2023 Kickoff:
Calling all book lovers for a night of food, music, raffles, book sales and prizes to celebrate 20 years of Mansfield READS! This year’s One City, One Book selection is Daughter of the Morning Star by Craig Johnson, author of the Longmire series. 6:00-7:30 p.m., Taphouse 16 (inside Market Steet), 3145 E. Broad St.

Kids Zone After Dark:

Color Their World 2023:
Join the Allies Mentoring Program at this event to celebrate 12 years of rescuing orphans from becoming a statistic. The audience will hear stories of how the nonprofit is changing the lives of orphans and disadvantaged children in 37 countries and counting. Guest speaker Dr. Lucille O’Neal, Shaq’s mom, is passionate about helping the less fortunate, so she will share encouraging words. Dinner will be provided. Can you Waffle It:
For ages 13-17 years. Join the Teen Advisory Group (TAG) in a yummy food challenge. Teens will get a variety of tasty food to find out if it can be made into a waffle. All supplies are provided. Artscapes:
Join the Mansfield Commission for the Arts for a gala with fine food, open bar, live music, entertainment and dancing – all included in your ticket price. Bring a little extra spending money to take part in our games of chance, shop in the live or silent auction or just give a donation to support the arts. There will be an island theme for the evening. Barks & Rec 5K:
This is open to all individuals who would like to run, with or without a furry friend. Dogs from the Mansfield Animal Shelter will also be made available for those who would like to be teamed up with a running partner.
