Christmas Tree Drop Off:
Recycle your live tree to be mulched. Drop off Christmas trees for recycling 12/26 through 1/20, and help us make mulch to give away in the spring. There will be a self-service trailer next to the garden center where trees may be unloaded. Free for Mansfield residents. 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., Home Depot, 1725 North, Hwy. 287.

Shred Only Day:
To ensure a speedy process, please prepare by bringing your documents in paper sacks or cardboard boxes for secure, on-site shredding. Mansfield residents only. No businesses allowed. Free. 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., Environmental Collection Center, 616 S. Wisteria.

Pay-What-You-Can Workshop Series:
Series offers actor training while exploring unique techniques of performing, methods of devising original theatrical works and/or expressive movement. No training or previous experience required. Free, but donations accepted. 6:00-8:00 p.m., Farr Best Theater, 109 N. Main St.

GED/HSE Prep Class Orientation and Testing:
Mansfield Public Library is pleased to offer GED/HSE prep classes in partnership with Fort Worth ISD. The classes will prepare individuals to take the GED or HSE test as it will cover all the main test subjects. Note: Orientation and testing is mandatory to start classes. Classes will meet regularly on Tuesdays/Thursdays. Please register if you are interested in attending the orientation and starting class. Intro to Archery:
Take aim at a new hobby! Beginning archers learn basic techniques with a USA Archery certified instructor. The class for ages 5-11: 1/15; ages 12 and above: 1/29. Free, but registration required. 6:15-7:15 p.m., Mansfield Activities Center, 103 Wisteria St.

Open Mic Night:
A community-wide invitation for artists to come to share art, poetry, music, song and dramatic monologues in a fan-friendly atmosphere. Early bird prices: Students/seniors: $7; adults: $10. Chamber Awards Gala:
This year’s theme is The Arctic Night. Let the night fill you with the adventurous spirit and visions of chasing the northern lights as we celebrate our own shining stars. Dress: It’s a fancy party! But it is a winter theme … winter white and northern light colors.
